About This Session

What Casting Directors Notice First

Award-winning casting director Angela Mickey will break down how casting professionals evaluate an actor’s headshot, résumé, reel, and self-tape. Through practical examples and audience questions, attendees will learn how to create a stronger first impression and communicate more clearly through their materials and performances.

Attendees will leave with:

- A better understanding of how casting evaluates actors and their materials
- Practical ways to strengthen self-tapes, reels, and audition choices
- Greater clarity on how to present their type, strengths, and professional identity

NOTE: You will be asked to submit headshots and reels prior to the session

It runs as a 60-minute group session with Angela Mickey, held over video with up to 10 peers working on the same thing.

Come with a question you want answered. Angela Mickey keeps the group small so everyone gets time, and you will hear what other people are working through too.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

How do sessions take place?
Sessions are either video (via Zoom) or in-person, depending on the mentor's availability settings. The format is shown when you select a time slot.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe — TalentED never stores your card details. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
What do I get after the session?
Every session includes a personalised summary and clear next steps sent to your email within 48 hours of the session completing.
