About TalentED

What is TalentED?

TalentED is a mentorship platform that connects aspiring creatives with established professionals in fashion, photography, music, film, and performance. You book a one-on-one session, show up with your work, and get direct, personalized feedback from someone actively working in your industry.

Who is this for?

TalentED is for anyone building a creative career who wants more than generic advice. Whether you're preparing a portfolio, navigating agency submissions, figuring out your next move, or just trying to get real feedback on your work, this is for you. You don't need to be at a specific stage. You just need to be serious about where you're going.

Is this only for people in New York?

No. Sessions are held over Zoom, so you can book with any mentor regardless of where you are in the world.

Mentors

How are mentors selected?

Every mentor on TalentED applies and is reviewed before being accepted. We look for people who are actively working in their field, have a track record of real professional experience, and are genuinely interested in helping others grow. Not everyone who applies gets in.

Are mentors verified?

Yes. Mentor profiles are reviewed by our team before they go live. The credits and experience listed on each profile reflect their actual professional background.

Can I book the same mentor more than once?

Absolutely. Many mentees book repeat sessions as their work evolves. Once you find someone who gives you real value, you can keep working with them directly through the platform.

Sessions

What should I prepare before a session?

Come in with 1 to 2 clear goals, something to review (portfolio, digitals, recent work, Instagram), and a short list of questions. The more prepared you are, the more you get out of it. Sessions are focused and fast, so having direction going in makes a difference.

What will I walk away with?

Clear feedback on your work, honest answers to your questions, and specific next steps tailored to where you are right now. Most mentees leave with a sharper sense of what to prioritize and what to stop doing.

Do I get anything after the session?

Yes. After your session, you receive a session recap with key takeaways and next steps captured during the call. You can also message your mentor directly through the platform for follow-up questions.

Booking and Pricing

How much does a session cost?

Session prices are set by each mentor and vary based on their experience and session length. You'll see the price on each mentor's profile before booking. There are no hidden fees.

How do I book?

Browse mentors on the Explore page, choose someone whose background matches what you need, pick an available time slot, and submit your booking request. The mentor confirms, and you get a Zoom link on your booking page.

Can I reschedule?

Yes. You can request a reschedule through your booking page. Changes are subject to mentor availability and need to be made in advance of the session.

Do you offer refunds?

If a session is canceled before it takes place, your payment is refunded. If you have a specific concern about a session that did not go as expected, reach out to us directly and we will work through it with you.

Trust and Safety

How do I know this is legitimate?

TalentED is a real platform with real mentors and real sessions. Every mentor is reviewed before being listed. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. If you have any concerns, you can reach out to us directly through the contact form on this site.

Will I be asked to pay agencies or external fees?

No. TalentED mentors do not act as agents and will never ask you to pay external fees, sign anything off-platform, or route payments outside of TalentED. If a mentor ever asks you to do any of those things, report it to us immediately.

Why not just learn online?

How is this different from YouTube, courses, or seminars?

Online content is general by design. It cannot look at your portfolio, understand your specific situation, or tell you what actually applies to you. A TalentED session is a conversation about your work, your questions, and your next steps. The difference is not just the format. It is the specificity. One session with the right mentor can be more useful than months of consuming content that was never built with you in mind.
