BUILDING A PHOTOGRAPHY PORTFOLIO WITH INTENTION

About This Session

A strong photography portfolio should do more than showcase your best images. It should communicate what you want to be hired for and help the right editors, brands, agencies, and creative teams understand where your work fits.

In this interactive small group session, photographer and ICP educator Myles Loftin will help participants think more intentionally about the work they create, what they choose to show, and how those decisions can shape the types of clients and opportunities they attract.

Come prepared to share your portfolio, a selection of images, or even a specific type of client you would like to work with. Myles will use participants’ real work and questions to guide the conversation, offering practical feedback on what your portfolio currently communicates, what may be missing, and how to develop new work that moves you closer to where you want to be.

You will also learn from the portfolios and goals of other emerging photographers in the room and see how different creative choices can position photographers for different kinds of work.

Leave with a clearer understanding of what you want your portfolio to say, who you want it to speak to, and what you should create next.

It runs as a 60-minute group session with Myles Loftin, held over video with up to 10 peers working on the same thing.
